It seems like yesterday I told you I couldn't wait to be your wife. You gave me the best proposal. One that is so special for the two of us, I've never heard of one like it, you are so thoughtful. The day we got married went so quick, I loved seeing you for the first time that day, the hugs & kisses, it was great! Our pictures are priceless of that moment! The past 7 years have gone so quick, so many great memories, fun time & new friends. I'm so grateful everyday that this is OUR LIFE. We get to share all these new adventures together. MELTY POOP'S

So Elle comes running out in the garage the other night with only her tank top on, covering her caterpillar (privates). She's screaming "MOM, MOM COME HERE!" Immediately I think OH Crap! We go running in the house & she's freaking out. " Mom I have MELTY POOP'S on the floor & on the toilet!" OH Crap, I was right! So as I enter the bathroom to survey the damage, sure enough I find MELTY POOP'S on the floor & on the toilet, what I want to know is how the toilet paper roll got in the toilet? Thankfully Gage was there to lend a helping hand, he stocked me up with a fork, plastic bags, Lysol Wipes & a hose for Elle! We got everything all cleaned up, just another day at The Peterson's! I just thought it was a cute little story I want to remember forever, I've never heard the phrase "MELTY POOP'S" before & will never forget it. I may have to hold the story over her head for blackmail down the road.

Nicole was treated to a North Pole (our favorite little diner in Newport, MN) breakfast in bed. After that she opened her Mothers Day cards from the kids. Elle had made her a star with her photo in it at pre-school and Gage got her a card that had us all laughing a bit.

As for my gift to her, I blindfolded Nicole and took it off in front of a horse and carriage ride (something she has been wanting to do for quite some time now). We took a 1/2 hr. ride around Nicollet Island in downtown Minneapolis as the sunset on Wednesday (our date night w/out kids). It has been a busy week at our house! We've been baking cookies for a cookie exchange that was so fun! Thanks for inviting me Kris, yummy! We brought the kids to the Holiday display at Macy's, A Day in the Life of an Elf. It was so cute, but way too short! Then it was dinner at Pizza Luce, no other pizza even comes close to its yumminess! We have our tree up too. Elle would pick up each ornament & say " Oh my gosh, this one is so beautiful" every time she put one up. Gage only lasted a little while, he seems to be to cool to help us put it up, although he did enjoy looking back at all his ornament throughout the years. We also got to have an extra little helper that day, thanks Alexis.

So my hubby calls me is a panic this morning at work. I can't figure out what he's trying to tell me, so ask him to take a picture & send it to me. This is what I get, those ...... CROP CIRCLE things IN THE SNOW! So now I'm freaking out! At work! What could have done this, It's perfect circles all the way from my front yard to my back yard? I ask my girls at work, they think it's the craziest thing they've ever seen & are a little freaked out! Their freaked out, I'm freaked out, I'm sleeping at my parents house tonight, I think to myself, no chance I'm going home. I saw those scary alien movie, I don't want to get probed, NO WAY!! So all day I'm racking my brain, my grandpa even goes over to my house & takes pictures of it. Then someone suggests I should call one of the NEWS channels??? What, than we'd be one of those crazy families people talk about, NO WAY! So when I get off work I get a call, it's Rich, you'll never believe this...... my son & his 3 buddies thought it would be cool to make perfect circles in our yard, they were hoping they could get in the Guinness Book of World Records!! I've never been so relived to have an imaginative child! I can go home & sleep soundly with no worries! Just a little embarrassed about my imaginative / crazy mind!

Visit to the Dentists

Kids went to the dentists yesterday, they did great and don't have any major issues. Gage laid there all cool and relaxed while they went to work. He took his x-rays with no gagging or choking at all. Now little Ms. Elle on the other hand was a different story, she layed there with all her might, but only made it through 2 of the 4 x-rays they needed. She did great during the cleaning and was quite the chatter box. They both walked out with new brushed and a clean smile, not sure how much longer Gage will be going the the "children's dentists".

Elle slowed down for a few quick poses this weekend! She has been beyond silly lately, Hannah Montana is her favorite entertainer & she is constantly dancing & singing all of her songs for us. With all of this extra spunk she has we feel like we need to channel it into something fun for her. We'll see what we can come up with.

Gage is the next great pianist! Lets say you want to hear Over the Rainbow, no problem! How about Soulja Boyz, Crank That, no problem! Or Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love, again, no problem! His teacher has him learning the basics which is great, but I know he wants to be playing some Beethoven. This is a photo taken at his first piano concert!

Gage scored two goals today during Woodbury's Soccer Jamboree. Elle scored one goal for her team & was named Player of the Game.

Gage played 3 games today with his team The Leprechaun's. They won all 3! The last game was the most exciting, that's where Gage scored the two goals. I say he was showing off for Rich & Randy. It was so much fun, I can't wait for the next game!

Elle played 1 game today, I stayed back with Katie to watch Gage, but Rich brought her & snapped some great shots of her! Way to go Elle!

We got to baby sit Alexis tonight, she's Gage's cousin. We went to Gage's soccer practice & the girls played at the park.

Then we went on a walk around the field, we had to stop & cheer for Gage!

Then the girls saw a hill they had to roll down, they stopped only for a quick picture!

I have no pictures to prove this one, but I don't want the memory to fade. Gage is turning out to be quite an asset to his soccer team, he scored 2 goals at their game on Saturday. They won 3-1, it's so much fun to go to his games, he's getting very aggrasive & willing to go the extra mile for his team! I remember all the years on the baseball field & he was never really into it. Always in the out field spinning in circles or trying to play in the dirt. I feel bad I pushed it for so long & didn't realize it was soccer he needed to be playing instead. Elle had quite a game on Saturday too. She scored a goal too...........for the other team that is! That reminds me of my attempts at sports. Ugh! Anyways hopefully we'll get a picture of them actually scoring sometime soon. If you check out The Sackett's Blog, they have tons of pictures!! We had a picnic in the park by our studio in St. Paul the other night. It was so fun watching the kids run up & down the stream. They were hopping from stone to stone & racing each other. And then the inevitable happened Elle the klutz, yep, just like her mother fell in! After the shock wore off she was fine, just soaking wet! Gage & Rich were jumping across the stream, I was betting on who would be the next wet victim, but they both stayed dry! It was a great night watching the kids play & get along. I hope as the years go by they remember these moments. It's something so simple, but so beautiful.

Soccer Has Officially Started!

As if our life's wern't busy enough we now have soccer 3 days a week; Gage on Monday nights, Elle on Tuesday nights and every Saturday is Game day! Elle 1st practice didn't go so well, all she kept saying was "I need a break". Now Gage on the other hand has REALLY stepped up his game! It should be an interesting year watching the two of them play.

Elle started 'school' at a local daycare center recently. She has spent the last two years with Lynne, & has been spoiled by her, there will always be a special place in my heart for Lynne. But it was time to move on. Elle needs more structure & more of a learning enviroment. I wanted her to make friends with kids that she'll go off to school with next year & hopefully have a good connection with. We feel like this center is a good place for her, Gage spent a few years there before he went on to Kindergarten. He really enjoyed it back then, oh boy that was such a long time ago........he'll be in 6th grade this year & were having such a fun time watching him become a little man!!

Senior Photo Session & Family Visit

Another great weekend with the family. My aunt Annie & cousin Katee came to visit, we shopped the Mall of America all day Thursday. Gage for the first time got excited to shop, we walked into PacSun & it was like his Mecca! It's so fun to see him so excited about fashion, not something I ever suspected him to do! He's got a good start to his school shopping. Elle got few things this weekend too, but grandma & I always pick them out, she'd wear her swim suit all the time if we let her! Friday was the big shooting day, Katee was sporting her new clothes for her Senior Pictures, it was so fun, she was so natural in front of the camera the hard part was narrowing down which ones she wanted!! That evening my cousins Becky, Kelly & her daughter Ava joined us for one relaxing weekend, nothing planned just some sun & giggles from the girls while jumping in the pool! Gage was here too, for entertainment with the girls, he was always trying to make the biggest splashes with his gigantic cannon balls! It was a great lazy weekend with the ones we love & don't get to see often enough. I wish it would have lasted longer! My mom & dad always host a great time, thanks for all the fun!

Wi, Dells Trip

Oh what fun we had in Wisconsin Dells! Grandpa & Grandma spoiled us once again. We had 3 days of fun at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park. Gage loved the Gigantic Wave Pool with the new friends he made, Elle enjoyed the littler waves with Grandma, Rich would push them out every time a wave came, she loved it. I was a big baby at the outdoor water park, the water was so cold!! I did brave a few Great water slides, but had to quickly soak up some sun by my dad, he was the coolest guy there, displaying all his tattoos. The indoor water park was the best, Rich & I raced down some slides, I of course lost. We went Mini Golfing one night, Elle was hilarious, she would squat down & play hockey with the golf club upside down to get the ball in! Gage was the only one to get a hole in one, Yea! One of the highlights of that night was the ducks at the mini golf course, you could feed them corn, it was adorable being able to feed them out of your hand. You could even pick them up! Their the best feed ducks around! Of course we always have good eats, thats what were really good at, Rich is displaying his love for buffalo wings, what a goon! I'm a lucky girl!! We also went on Go carts Elle & I went so fast, she giggled the whole time, Gage did pretty good after he figured out which was the gas & the brake ( he crashed pretty hard the first time)! Oops! Rich & I braved the Wooden Roller Coasters, wow, I need a neck brace next time! Fun, Fun, can't wait till next time.

31 Years Ago Today!

31 years ago Dick and Di (wow thats a long time) started their life's together. Look at them now, just as beautiful now as I am sure they were the day they got married. We would like to thank them for all they have done for our family and as Nicole and I go forward in our marriage we will always look at you two for inspiration.

Day At a Minnesota Beach

What a fun day we had today!! The kids were so good while I ran my errands this morning we had to do something fun & out of the ordinary for us pool lovers!! The beach it was!! They had so much fun swimming, building castles, waterfalls, trying to catch fish with their hands or buckets (which was hilarious to watch), skipping rocks & of course making new friends. All the while I got to sit back & relax with a good book, thank god for lifeguards!! Seven hours later I had to call in a reinforcement to help me remove their prunie little butts from the water, they were having so much fun! Rich came to my rescue! I love my Mondays off with the kids, I'm so grateful for the extra time I get to have with them & love to watch their relationship grow into a wonderful bond!

I was able to rent a $4,00.00 Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens the other day. It was for an event and the client paid for me to rent. Gage's Camp Experience

Gage went off to camp with his Grandma Liz, it looks like they had a blast!! It was called CREATIVE KIDS CAMP. He got to try all kinds of different craft projects, He enjoyed stained glass work & made some beautiful necklaces & loved clay art!! He made me a puffer fish (they're my favorite) & Elle has a little place to put all her jewelry. Rich's didn't make it through the kiln, but its the thought that counts!! He got to go on the ropes course, he's so brave!! He also went swimming, they had a trampoline in the lake that they could jump off, what fun!! He was able to show off his piano skills to an audience "Ode to Joy' was his song of choice! New friendships were made & memories he'll cherish forever. And of course all the time he got to share with Grandma Liz. He had an amazing time & we're so thankful for the opportunity for him to have all these amazing memories. Thank you Grandma Liz!

While Gage is away having fun at Camp, we felt that Elle deserved a night of her own. So we jumped into the car headed to the Washington County Fair. She had a BLAST; from eating Cotton Candy, Corn Dogs and Cookies to riding a ton of rides Elle did it all. It was a PERFECT night and it was such a pleasure to watch Elle having so much fun! Wednesday Date Night

Some of you all may or may not know that we have the pleasure of dropping the kids of at Grandma and Grandpa's house every Wednesday night. Can hardly believe it, but Elle turned 4 today. Seems like yesterday Nicole's water broke in her parents living room while eating pizza & watching TV. Four years later here we are, she has grown to be such a little character with her own little attitude. Today was a great day, we woke up and decided to go on a little family adventure. So we drove out to the Mall of America and took the Light Rail to the Metrodome to watch the Twins. We purchased (4) "cheep seats" from a ticket scalper for $15. Then spent our "Big Savings" on Cotton Candy, Hot Dogs, Ice Cream & Pop...... oh ya Nicole had some Famous Dave's. Elle fell asleep half way into the 5th inning, but woke up clapping as everyone was trying to rally the Twin's in the 7th inning. We had a great day today and hope you all enjoy the photos!

Gage has been a busy little man lately! He just got back from a road trip with his Dad & Katie; they went to Missouri to visit his Grandpa Greg. From the sounds of it they had a BLAST, from early mornings with Grandpa Greg to water park rides! Back home he has been staying busy with piano lessons and track. We are very proud of our BIG guy; he's turning out to be quite the gifted person and it's a great feeling to see him find his passion in life (the piano).

Elle's 1st "serious" injury! She jumped to press the button on the elevator and the little door opened and got her. In the process of contacting my studio's building manger to make sure this will not happen again. Elle is OK, Nicole took her to the emergency room and it wasn't cut deep enough to need stitches.

We are now faced with the fact that our Elle will never win a swim suit contest :)

We got into town yesterday but didn't do much besides chill around the house and get our butts kicked in a game of cribbage by Nicole. My mother has a new cute little place in Lafayette that she truly has made her own. So today we got up and decided to take a little hike at the foothills of Boulder. Below are some photos of our day!
